Eurovision Media Services joins SRT Alliance

SRT Alliance now has 35 member organisations

Eurovision Media Services has joined the SRT Alliance which aims to support the continued adoption and development of the low latency SRT open source video transport protocol.

The SRT Alliance now has more than 35 members, including Harmonic, Brightcove, and Limelight Networks, since it was founded by Haivision and Wowza.

The organisation’s goal is to expand the streaming media ecosystem and support the collaborative development of SRT, an open-source video transport protocol that enables the delivery of high quality and secure, low-latency video across the public internet.

Graham Warren, chief operating officer of Eurovision Media Services, said: “We are proud to join such an initiative to help address the main challenges that our clients regularly face when it comes to providing high performance, low-latency streaming in a secure and reliable way across the public internet.”

“With the SRT Alliance, Eurovision Media Services is joining an industry movement to improve the way the world streams video,” added Sylvio Jelovcich, vice president of Global Alliances, Haivision. “We’re looking forward to seeing the SRT protocol be actively implemented in some of the world’s biggest broadcast streaming workflows, and anticipate more SRT adoption and developments in the coming months.”
