Could BBC Three move back to TV?

The youth network moved to online-only four years ago

The BBC is considering moving BBC Three back to television, the Daily Mail has reported.

The youth network moved to online-only four years ago, becoming available exclusively on iPlayer.

Now BBC executives are reportedly discussing reversing the decision as the corporation prepares to publish its annual plan later this month.

A spokesman for the BBC said the report was “speculation” but did not rule it out completely.

The channel was given a boost by hits including RuPaul’s Drag Race UKFleabag and This Country. The move could help the BBC’s efforts to win back younger viewers.

However, it is said that such a decision could lead to cuts elsewhere to fund the move.
