Comigo and Broadpeak have announced an integrated solution that allows IPTV operators to deliver live TV services to TV screens, mobile devices, smartphones, and tablets, in addition to personalised content, advanced social capabilities, and content-related interactive apps. The solution combines Comigo’s Android-based set-top box solution and Broadpeak’s nanoCDN technology.
Comigo’s TV platform is powered by a flexible, cloud-based solution that enables operators to manage and control the TV experience on any screen. This allows operators to provide personalised content recommendations, content-related applications including social apps like Facebook and Twitter, and other features and capabilities.
Broadpeak’s nanoCDN technology relies on the usage of home networks devices such as set-top boxes to make them an extension of the CDN. Leveraging the multicast capability of the networks, nanoCDN is designed to enable operators to provide subscribers with an improved quality of experience for live video services, while drastically reducing costs.
