Australian Open smashes audience figures for Eurosport

Eurosport’s social media channels received a 76 per cent uplift

Eurosport has revealed a 35 per cent year-on-year increase in unique visitors to its web and app platforms during the Australian Open.

Eurosport.com hosted a slate of short-form content including the My Grand Slam Journey series featuring Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal, the Tennis Legends vodcast, and highlights packages from Melbourne Park.

Audience growth was reported in Germany (+118 per cent), Italy (+53 per cent), UK (+29 per cent), Spain (+14 per cent) and France (+12 per cent).

Eurosport’s social media channels also received a 76 per cent uplift, across YouTube (+220 per cent), Facebook (+75 per cent) and Instagram (+62 per cent).

Coverage of the Australian Open on Eurosport 1 increased 4 per cent over 2019, with audience growth reported in Germany (+26 per cent) the Netherlands (+26 per cent), Spain (+24 per cent), UK (+18 per cent), Italy (+10 per cent), Sweden (+12 per cent) and Norway (+60 per cent).
