Amazon to launch throughout Europe

Amazon is looking to deliver its Prime Instant Video platform throughout France, Spain and Italy, according to Le Figaro.

No statement has been made by Amazon as of yet, but it is believed that the company is looking to complete the launch by the end of 2016.

Le Figaro, a French newspaper, is reporting that an Amazon representative has begun to ‘float the concept’ among parliamentarians.

The paper also reports that the Amazon brand name has been registered in France, with its service currently limited to the UK and Germany.

The move, however imminent, seems a likely one for the OTT provider, which continues to look to match Netflix in every market and feature. In April, it released Instant Video as a monthly service, having previously only being made available via annual subscription.
