CNNMoney Switzerland has selected media systems integrator Videlio to set-up and implement its new Zurich-based newsroom and studio operations.
Installation services include end-to-end project management, technical specifications, furniture manufacturing, staging, cabling and onsite integration, system and administrative training, and on-air coaching.
The new 200 square metre studio will sit alongside a 20-seat newsroom.
The news and studio workflow will be based on the Dalet Galaxy platform, which will manage newswires, story creation and rundowns, from any desktop workstation. Studio playout is ensured by Dalet Brio servers and graphics by Dalet Cube. Dalet Xtend will provide a gateway into the Adobe Premiere Pro CC editors.
The studio will be equipped with four cameras and Autoscript teleprompters as well as NEC touch screens and a presentation desk that can welcome up to five people. The studio will be controlled from a production gallery leveraging a NewTek TriCaster, Grass Valley Imagestore and Ross Video Ultrix routing.
“Our tight timeline to launch a new station required that we find a partner with a strong track-record of setting up newsrooms and studios from a blank slate,” said Jean-Yves Carabot, CTO of CNNMoney Switzerland. “What’s more, we had decided early on to deploy Dalet as a unified newsroom, production, playout, automation and MAM platform. Videlio had the needed expertise to help us do both.”
“This newsroom and studio deployment is typical of modern systems integration,” added Vincent Loré, CEO of Videlio Media. “Beyond traditional hardware installation and configuration, workflow design and implementation along with training and coaching have become an essential part of the services that we provide.”
