Teuve automates with Tedial

Leading Spanish-language channel provider Teuve has completed a three year project with process and automation specialist Tedial to build a complete new technology platform.

The new system allows Teuve to create, acquire, manage, store, schedule and deliver programmes across its 12 themed channels, with the ability to scale to greater capacities and to allow for the migration to HD.

Throughout the project Tedial consultants worked closely with Teuve management to ensure that the solution precisely matched the broadcaster’s requirements. The aim was to build a highly automated system which would bring real operational cost efficiencies and allow the broadcaster to develop its business further.

The first phase of the project, completed in July 2008, implemented a completely tapeless workflow. This used key Tedial modules Tarsys and AST, with the MPM media process manager, to control all content flows around the broadcaster.

Phase two, completed in June 2009, completed the broadcast process management system by adding a production control layer, and integrating rights and traffic management systems developed in-house by Teuve. The Tedial Ficus module was used to automate media movement processes to support ingest, archiving and transmission, controlling a number of third party systems.

Once implemented, Tedial Ficus is used to define and manage workflows as a series of processes, automatically generating work orders and tracking that they are completed to time and budget. These processes are managed and implemented by the other Tedial modules, resulting in a highly efficient system that allows operations to be defined and executed in terms of commercial requirements.

“This has been an excellent project for Tedial and, I hope, for Teuve,” said Emilio Lopez Zapata, CTO of Tedial. “We have worked together carefully at every step of the way to define exactly what was required. That has allowed us to implement a state of the art broadcast process management system which is delivering real cost efficiencies to Teuve.”
