Spanish expansion through ScheduALL

Madrid-based production and post production facility Imagen Line has implemented ScheduALL’s production and operations management software to accommodate recent rapid growth at the company, writes Adrian Pennington.

ScheduALL will provide a complete solution for automating and re-engineering key business processes driving Imagen Line’s project management and booking, the stock management library, and invoicing.

Imagen Line recently relocated to a new facility with expanded production capabilities including two studios, seven HD and SD post-production rooms, a digital multicamera control room, a sound studio, and facilities for 2D and 3D graphics, compositing, efx, transfers, and colour correction. Previously, the company was using internally developed software based on Microsoft Access and Excel to handle project planning, with a separate and disconnected system for invoicing.

“It had become clear that we had outgrown our home-grown solutions,” said Juan Carlos Rodriguez, director of organisation for Imagen Line. “There was no integration among the various functions of the company, and the engineers were spending too much time entering information into spreadsheets and then making separate reports for invoicing once the jobs were completed.”

The move to a new facility provided the opportunity for Imagen Line to implement the ScheduALL system to manage all its jobs from start to finish and system. At any stage in the job, project managers will be able to access a centralised view of all key project information to make decisions based on bookings, hours spent, and costs incurred to date.

“We will be able to manage projects more proactively, and we’ll have easy access to the data we need to compare project proposals with actual expenses incurred,” said Rodriguez. “In turn, we’ll be better equipped to respond to client questions about invoices and expenses.

He added, “Many of our jobs are very complex and stretch over several months, and it is very important to understand how our post-production rooms will be utilised during that time for better overall planning.”

“Imagen Line is a great example of a highly successful and rapidly growing company that took proactive action to help it operate as effectively as possible,” said Roger Kleckner, vice president of strategic development at ScheduALL. “ScheduALL gives Imagen Line a window into its overall business for better and more cost-effective allocation of resources.”
