Signiant has established a strong reputation for its secure delivery service of media content over IP circuits. Now it is forming a partnership with Cisco.Together they will provide an open, scalable delivery platform, the Cisco Media Data Center. This will enable content exchanges both within an organisation and for delivery to external facilities.“For broadcasting, media and entertainment companies, ‘going digital’ and ‘content everywhere’ initiatives are forcing a transition from linear distribution to an exciting new world of electronic sell-through, video on demand, and multiplatform delivery,” says Tom Ohanian, the broadcast industry veteran who is now part of Cisco’s digital media strategy team. “To truly capitalise on the new and evolving opportunities in the market, media companies will need to depend on global collaboration and partnerships that enable the seamless exchange of content outside the enterprise.”
