Shure Distribution UK (SDUK) will be demonstrating some of the latest advances in broadcast and live production technology from microphone manufacturer Shure and portable recorder specialist Sound Devices at BVE 2013. Alongside Shure shotgun microphones and the BRH series headphones, the company’s first-ever range of dedicated broadcast headsets, Shure’s recently introduced wireless microphone systems will all be on display at the SDUK stand, from the affordable FP range (pictured) to Shure’s digital offering ULX-D, and the top-of-the-range hybrid analogue/digital Axient system, as used to great effect at last year’s summer games. From Sound Devices, SDUK will be exhibiting the 664 6-channel portable production mixer, plus the PIX240i and PIX260i production video recorders. Shure’s FP is a portable, easy-to-use, durable yet lightweight, cost-effective wireless microphone system. ULX-D represents the latest and greatest in digital wireless microphone technology, offering greater RF efficiency than ever before, plus unrivalled clarity of sound and battery life amongst comparable digital systems. Designed to provide the very highest standards of wireless coverage for prestigious live productions and events, Axient is Shure’s flagship wireless platform, combining the very latest in digital wireless technology with the company’s decades of analogue system design to create wireless systems that offer all of the quality and reliability of wired microphones. Sound Devices’ robust 664 field mixer has six input channels and four output buses, all recordable, making for up to 10 tracks recording to SD and/or CF media. Video can be recorded on the new Sound Devices PIX260i and its more affordable sibling the PIX240i in Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD formats, ready for direct import into Avid and Apple editing platforms, and audio can be recorded or played back on multiple tracks at once, eight on the PIX240i and up to 32 on the PIX260i.
