RTBF, the French language national broadcaster in Belgium, has continued to invest in the Radio-Assist software from Netia. With the implementation of the latest version, RTBF covers its entire radio workflow from ingest to broadcast. “As we have expanded our service offering, Netia has provided a range of software tools that suit our needs in terms of media management and broadcast via multiple platforms,” said Cėceile Gonfroid, technical director at RTBF. “Netia technology has long been the backbone of our radio production, and as our broadcast workflow evolves the modular design of Netia’s Radio-Assist software suite will enable future adaptation.” Every day 300 RTBF users work simultaneously with Radio-Assist. Planning tools within the software enable RTB staff to prepare publication of media early in the workflow. The suite’s new scheduling tools and metadata handling add value by enabling RTBF to enrich each item in its content database with detailed information. Because every step of the workflow is handled by a single database it eases communication between RTBF’s scheduling and broadcast tools. The automatic generation of playlists and publishing engine streamline the distribution of media and provides logging of everything sent to air, for legal and archiving purposes.
