Ross Video unveils data-driven weather graphics system

The Raiden toolset acquires processes and visualises data from a wide range of sources for the XPression engine

Ross Video has announced the introduction of its new data-driven weather graphics solution, Raiden.

Raiden adds weather graphics to Ross Video’s XPression toolbox, integrating with existing production workflows through an intuitive web-based tool. The solution enables meteorologists to collaborate with producers and designers to prepare weather and climate content anywhere, said the company.

The Raiden toolset features data aggregation, acquiring, processing and visualising data from a wide range of sources for the XPression engine. An intuitive story creation tool enables users to build or update a weather story and rundown from anywhere, said Ross, and an XPression Plugin with DataLinq allows broadcasters to design and operate content from a single graphics solution.

Boromy Ung, senior director – product management and business development – graphics at Ross Video, said: “Raiden is the latest addition to the innovative lineup of Ross Graphics solutions that already includes our XPression Real-Time Motion Graphics system, our PIERO Sports Analysis toolset and our Voyager Unreal-based Engine with the Lucid Control System.

“With Raiden, we strengthen an already robust ecosystem of products designed for the newsroom. It’s another example of our commitment to advancing our solutions to empower customers to create the most captivating content and maintain their competitive edge in the broadcasting industry.”
