Public opinion sought on Pinewood growth plans

Proposed expansion plans include new film stages and a data centre

Pinewood Group has launched a consultation on its expansion.

The Buckinghamshire studios complex, recently called “the spiritual home of the British film industry” by the Prime Minister, plans to expand its production facilities with additional film stages and a new data centre.

The group has announced the opening of a period of public consultation, which will take place between 25-27th February and aims to “begin community dialogue” around potential development at the site.

David Conway, chief executive officer at Pinewood Group said, “We are a dynamic business in a fast-moving industry, and we are committed to invest in the ongoing expansion of Pinewood Studios.

“The reduction in global content production, combined with rising construction costs and business rates, triggered a review of our existing planning consent and we believe the revised proposals provide a credible alternative.”
