Since 2016, the streamer says it generated over 7,500 jobs for Spanish cast and crew

Netflix has announced plans to double the size of its production hub in Madrid from five studios to ten.

The expanded site will also include new post production facilities that “will combine the latest technologies and foster collaboration between professionals,” said the streamer.

Netflix first opened the hub at Tres Cantos in 2019.

Since 2016, the streamer says it has released over 50 titles made in Spain, generating over 7,500 jobs for cast and crew. In 2021 is expects to hire over 1,500 industry professionals to work on its productions.

“With this expansion, we will make the latest advances available to creators so that they can continue to tell great stories,” said Diego Ávalos, vice president of content for Netflix in Spain.

The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
