France’s EAV buys Fairlight

Paris-based production and post facility, EAV, has become the first Fairlight CC-1-powered customer in France, recently purchasing a Fairlight HD Dream Factory system featuring the CC-1 engine.

Paris-based production and post facility, EAV, has become the first Fairlight CC-1-powered customer in France, recently purchasing a Fairlight HD Dream Factory system featuring the CC-1 engine.

Created in March 2006 by parent company Melodia, EAV was established to develop “Mediatour,” a television channel designed to promote local tourism in France. The channel has been on the air since June 2006. EAV handles production and post production responsibilities for the programming on Mediatour.

With the goal of expanding its services to other projects including documentaries and publicity films, EAV needed an easy-to-use, high-performance system that could handle a variety of projects. “We were looking for an open platform with a fast and intuitive response,” said Thierry Poss_m_ of EAV. “I like to work on a system in confidence. With the HD Dream Factory we will have the best of both worlds: open architecture and the stability for which Fairlight products are known.”

Based on the Constellation-XT large format mixing system, the strength of the HD Dream Factory is that it provides a completely integrated and comprehensive HD production system including a Pyxis HD nonlinear video system. “With the new Fairlight products, we will have the ability to work on several formats in a short time and respond to all our clients,” Poss_m_ added. “I look forward to growing our business with the Fairlight system.”

“The early adoption of Fairlight CC-1 technology by leading production/post-production facilities such as EAV is a testament to the tremendous advantages of Crystal Core over competitive media production platforms,” said Stuart DeMarais, sales & marketing director, Fairlight. “The CC-1 engine meets the market’s demand for an alternative platform solution, and sets a new industry standard as more facilities turn to Fairlight for the best in speed, reliability and workflow efficiency.”
