France 2 is now broadcasting in 4K UHD

The channel is available via digital terrestrial television (DTT) and the FRANSAT free-to-air satellite network from today

France Télévisions’ France 2 channel starts broadcasting in 4K UHD today.

The channel is available via digital terrestrial television (DTT) and the FRANSAT free-to-air satellite network. France 3 is due to begin broadcasting in the same format on 10th July.

Broadcasts will be available in the Paris, Nantes and Bordeaux regions to begin with, before being extended to Toulouse and Rennes on 27th February.

The broadcaster expects 72 per cent of viewers will be able to access its UHD channels by the start of the Paris Olympics in July.

France Télévisions is the first French broadcaster to deliver 4K content via DTT.
