TVBEurope has announced a new event, Fast Turnaround TV, to add to its popular IT Broadcast Workflow and 3D Masters conferences in 2012. The new event will be held on 13 March at The Soho Hotel in London.
Live and event-driven television production has become a cornerstone of a broadcast schedule. Major live and as-live ‘watercooler’ events are not susceptible to catch-up or video on demand, so deliver an audience mass to advertisers that no other medium can match.
But to deliver these events requires every part of the broadcast chain to be at its very best. Rigorous planning, preparation and testing have to work to exacting deadlines. Innovation in technology is allied to the finest craft expertise to make – or break – the show.
The new Fast Turnaround TV conference takes a look at the unique constraints and complexities of these multi-faceted productions. It will break down the latest and coming technologies to deliver innovative presentation, and uncover the specialist skills necessary to deliver a failsafe transmission. It will include behind the scenes accounts of the most high profile productions.
Fast Turnaround TV will be a unique opportunity for peers from around Europe to come together for a day to share case studies on how events were produced, how technology and logistics were used and what technical innovations were introduced to enhance the coverage.
Following Fast Turnaround TV on 13 March the spotlight turns to the stereoscopic, with the return of 3D Masters, once again at BAFTA in London on 13 June. It will be produced in association with two of the leading technical bodies, BKSTS and SMPTE, and with 3D coverage of the London Olympics on the near horizon there will never be a better time to investigate the state of the art.
IT Broadcast Workflow 2012 is on 3 July, at a new location (the Royal Garden Hotel) in west London, closer to Heathrow, the BBC and much of the supplier community.
