Elstree Studios’ managing director steps down

Morris's tenure has seen Elstree become the home of both Strictly Come Dancing and The Crown

Roger Morris, the managing director of Elstree Studios, has announced his decision to resign from the company after 12 years at the helm.

Morris joined Elstree Film Studios Limited in 2009, with the studio going on to become the home of many top TV shows and films, including Strictly Come Dancing and The Crown, and Oscar-winner The Kings Speech.

He also established a successful working partnership with the BBC technical facilities provider, BBC Studioworks.

Elstree Studios is currently working on a project to add two new large stages to its facilities, which are due to open in 2022.

The company said it would not be commenting further on Morris’s resignation, but said it was “grateful for the significant contribution which he has made to Elstree Studios and the community and Borough of Hertsmere and the Board wishes him well for the future”.
