Amsterdam’s Condor finds Resolve

Condor Digital, the largest independently owned post production network in Europe, has purchased a DaVinci Resolve non-linear colour correction system as part of a DaVinci 2K upgrade program.

Condor Digital, the largest independently owned post production network in Europe, has purchased a DaVinci Resolve non-linear colour correction system as part of a DaVinci 2K upgrade program.

Condor provides services for film, video and digital media and the new Resolve, which is being installed at the company’s Amsterdam facility, will support a wide range of digital image processing services, such as colour correction and 3D grading. The latest version of Resolve provides Condor with improved performance and a workflow allowing it to handle a number of different tasks, such as conforming and rendering, in a single Resolve system.

“I have been ecstatic with what Blackmagic has done with DaVinci products,” said Barry Clarke, senior colourist, Condor. “The upgrade will give us a much faster and less complicated workflow, and Blackmagic has made it very easy to move up. The Resolve is the only system I will work on and its new features let me work in realtime and in all the formats or resolutions I want.”

Condor moved to the new DaVinci Resolve as part of a worldwide 2K upgrade program by Blackmagic Design. 2K users can use the latest file resolutions and nonlinear workflows of Resolve without giving up any of the features and benefits of their 2K systems. Supplementary hardware is installed in parallel with the customer’s existing 2K system, with both Resolve and the 2K operated by their existing control panels.

“This program, which has already been used by a large number of customers worldwide, gives 2K users the easiest possible path to a new Resolve. They are now able to move into a nonlinear environment with the most powerful DI tool available,” said Simon Westland, director of sales, EMEA, Blackmagic Design.
