What impact have the current global uncertainties had on the company’s R&D and product development in recent months?
The prevailing global uncertainties have underscored a singular truth: change is the only constant. This environment has significantly shaped our R&D focus, driving us to prioritise agility in our product development. Our core mission has been to ensure our customers can adapt their workflows seamlessly and without incurring any technical or operational debt, even in rapidly shifting circumstances. This necessitates continuous, deep learning of evolving customer needs and swiftly providing robust support for new infrastructure and emerging formats.

What do you foresee as the biggest challenges in R&D and product development/deployment in the coming years?
In the coming years, the biggest challenges for R&D and product development will revolve around navigating the accelerating pace of technological evolution and the increasing complexity of media workflows. Ensuring seamless interoperability across diverse vendor ecosystems, while simultaneously optimising resource utilisation in both cloud and on-premise environments, will be paramount. Furthermore, the ability to rapidly integrate and leverage new hardware advancements will be crucial to maintain our competitive edge and deliver maximum efficiency.
Where do you see the most opportune areas for innovation in your area of the market, and what tech/solutions will drive that development?
As a 100 per cent software company, our most opportune areas for innovation lie in enabling our customers to be more efficient. Media operations are seeking to achieve more with fewer resources, and this is where we can truly deliver value. This development will be driven by continuously optimising our code, supporting new and emerging deployment methodologies that maximise resource usage in both cloud and on-prem environments, and constantly adapting our solutions to leverage the latest hardware advancements for optimal CPU, network, and other infrastructure elements.
What are you working on currently that excites you as a product team, and what can we expect to see at IBC2025?
We are excited and passionate about creating tools for the next generation of IP workflows. For TAG, this means continuing to empower our users with hyper-interoperability across their chosen vendors, delivering maximum operational efficiency (both human and compute through automation and CPU/network load reducing tools), and most importantly, guaranteeing the ability to constantly evolve and adapt. At IBC2025, we are prepared to demonstrate the newest tools added to TAG’s Realtime Media Platform, including advanced colour analysis tools available directly within the multiviewer display, which will further simplify operations and enable quality delivery at scale with greater resource efficiency.
