What impact have the current global uncertainties had on the company’s R&D and product development in recent months?
As a global company with R&D teams based in Canada, the US, and France, Haivision can quickly adapt to changing landscapes while continuing to support customers locally. As a result, recent global uncertainties have had minimal impact on our development efforts. We’ve maintained our momentum with several key product launches, including the Haivision Falkon X2, our latest 5G mobile video transmitter. Innovation at Haivision continues to be a core focus across all our teams.
What do you foresee as the biggest challenges in R&D and product development/deployment in the coming years?
A recurring challenge in product development is managing the talent pool required to deliver our solutions. Innovation is at the core of our work as we support many of the world’s leading broadcasters in delivering live news, sports, and entertainment. To meet their evolving technical strategies, our solutions must continually advance.
For many of our customers, finding the right balance between cloud and on-premises solutions is becoming increasingly important. On our side, this means ensuring we have the skill sets to develop both hardware appliances and cloud-native offerings to support hybrid architectures that are now becoming the industry standard.
Where do you see the most opportune areas for innovation in your area of the market, and what tech/solutions will drive that development?
Improving operational efficiency is a top priority for many of our customers, which drives several innovations at Haivision. Our focus on creating great user experiences with a redesigned user interface across our live contribution ecosystem has helped our customers work faster and more efficiently.

With Haivision Hub360, we offer customers centralised control of all their Haivision workflows, both fixed and mobile encoders, helping streamline workflows and simplify live production. Another key area that is driving efficiency for our customers is 5G, particularly the growing interest in using Private 5G networks for live video contribution. Haivision has been leading the market on this evolution, and our continued investment in ultra-low latency video solutions reflects our commitment to enabling the industry’s shift toward a 5G-first future.
What are you working on currently that excites you as a product team, and what can we expect to see at IBC2025?
The media and entertainment market continues to evolve, driven by changing audience demands that are impacting broadcasters’ approach to content production, distribution, and packaging. Whether in the form of ad-supported or subscription-driven models, broadcasters are rethinking their workflows to meet this demand. As the pace of change accelerates, we are focused on helping our customers adapt. At IBC2025, Haivision will be demonstrating new product launches that further establish our dedication to live video contribution over any network and reflect our commitment to staying ahead of industry needs.
