Molinare connects data transport with The Dot Group

DataSprint from Dot is powered by IBM Aspera technology, and built on Aspera to create a one-stop package that offers all the functionality required by facilities like Molinare

Post production house Molinare has selected The Dot Group’s DataSprint service for the delivery of files between production, partner facilities and delivery to clients.

DataSprint from Dot is powered by IBM Aspera technology, and built on Aspera to create a one-stop package that offers all the functionality required by facilities like Molinare.

The service features a web-based user interface and dashboard, enabling users to set up the workflows with direct links into automated systems where needed.

“We are continuously sending and receiving large amounts of data,” said Darren Woolfson, director of technology and visual services at Molinare. “The data needs to be sent quickly and securely, and we need to be working with a solutions partner that can offer a highly reliable solution while remaining cost effective.

“DataSprint offered what we needed, with the features that we and our clients need,” he added. “And it worked for us commercially, allowing us to send and receive terabytes of data without any escalating costs for transfers or additional users. We are extremely happy with the service.”

Simon Parkinson, managing director at Dot Group added “Molinare is an ideal use case for DataSprint. We worked with them to tailor the solution to their needs: together we calculated that 1 Gb/s was the right scale for them. Where we have a unique offering is that, once we have decided on the bandwidth, we can give the client a fixed price which allows them to do whatever they want within it, no matter how many users are connected or how complex and multi-layered their workflows.”
