iSIZE has partnered with Intel to use Artificial Intelligence to advance high quality streaming while reducing streaming cost.
The two companies have partnered to optimise iSIZE’s AI models for Intel Xeon Scalable processors with Deep Learning Boost (Intel DL Boost) and the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit, powered by oneAPI.
This partnership has enabled iSIZE to achieve up to 5 times speed performance on its BitSave precoding technology which it says translates to a significant total cost of ownership (TCO) savings for video distribution at similar video quality.
It also enables users to deliver higher quality content (e.g. 1080p vs 720p) at the same TCO, said iSIZE. The BitSave precoding technology uses advanced Artificial Intelligence models and runs outside the encoder working with any commercial and open-source codecs, including AVC, HEVC, VP9 and AV1.
Sergio Grce, CEO of iSIZE Technologies, said: “We are proud to showcase our work with Intel to further optimise our AI precoding solution by leveraging the vast capabilities of Intel Xeon Scalable processors at the edge and Cloud. iSIZE is able to bring significant bandwidth savings, and reduced energy needs to a variety of workloads such as VoD, live streaming, gaming and IoT. We are looking forward to continuing our strategic partnership with Intel and seeing our deep perceptual optimisation grow to its fullest potential for customers.”
