Eutelsat’s Vincent Grivet will remain in post as chairman of the HbbTV Association, following his re-election by its newly appointed steering group on June 21st.
Grivet will serve a further two-year term at HbbTV, which is developing a core standard to meet market requirements, focusing on interoperability to ensure compliance of reception devices with the specifications.
The steering group also re-elected TP Vision’s Jon Piesing as HbbTV’s vice chairman. Xavi Redon of Cellnex Telecom continues as the association’s treasurer.
Commenting on his re-election, Grivet said, “I would like to thank all HbbTV members for their participation and support of the association, and I feel honoured to have the opportunity to serve another term of chair in these exciting times.
“TV viewing remains a predominant choice of people when it comes to entertainment, culture and information, and the open HbbTV specifications create options for rich and diverse services in a fast changing world.”
