UK broadcaster Channel 5 and its streaming service My5 have jointly announced a relaunch under a new brand name.
The announcement follows a three-year period of growth which has seen My5 expand faster than any other UK PSB streaming service during the first half of 2024, said the company, increasing figures by 40 per cent over the period.
Launching in Q1 2025, 5 aims to provide users with access to its range of content across linear, streaming and digital platforms.
Content will be “significantly expanded” to include reality shows, drama, factual programming and films from across the wider Paramount family, encompassing MTV Entertainment Studios, CBS and Comedy Central, plus selected content from Paramount+. 5 will include a range of FAST channels, with personalisation and data-led advertising opportunities.
President of Channel 5 and Paramount UK’s regional lead, Sarah Rose, said: “We have seen record growth for My5 viewing over the last three years and, as more of our audience discover streaming, we think it’s the right time to have a much closer relationship between our linear and streaming services. The new exciting content and FAST channels that we’ll be offering on 5 from 2025 will build on the amazing array of homegrown Channel 5 hits we know our audience already love.”
