Advanced HDR by Technicolor and Plex have announced a collaboration to boost HDR content for AVoD.
The partnership enables the integration of the Advanced HDR by Technicolor solution across the Plex global streaming platform, aiming to enhance the quality of its ad-supported video on demand (AVoD) offering.
Jointly developed with InterDigital, Philips and Technicolor, the suite enables Plex to deliver a premium viewing service with high quality brightness, contrast and colour accuracy, said the company,
Rick Dumont, head of business development for HDR at Philips, said, “As more consumers see the upgraded viewing experience that HDR provides, the demand for HDR content grows. Consumers have come to expect streaming services and TV broadcasts to have the highest image quality possible.”
The initiative marks the latest step in the support Advanced HDR by Technicolor provides to streaming services.
