Sony has announced the launch of its Camera Verify solution.
Developed to meet the needs of news organisations facing the challenge of verifying the authenticity of digital images, the solution embeds both C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authority) digital signatures and Sony’s own 3D depth information into an image at point of capture.

A feature of the company’s Camera Authenticity Solution, Camera Verify enables the sharing of authenticity information through a dedicated Image Verification Site.
News organisations can issue external URLs for images allowing third parties to view verification information. Specific authenticity items can be selected and shared during the publication and distribution process, streamlining the dissemination of credible content.
Additionally, the Digital Signature License, enabling digital signatures to be embedded into images captured with supported Sony cameras, can be purchased via the Creator’s Cloud website.
Currently in beta release, Sony plans to further expand support for video content later this year.
