Ross Video has added a new member to its family of hyperconverged media infrastructure platforms.
Ultrix FR30 extends the platform to enterprise-scale broadcast, live production, sports, outside broadcast (OB), corporate, and media environments, the company said.
The FR30 extends the Ultrix family from compact 1RU systems to a 30RU platform supporting up to 576×576 UHD I/O in a single chassis, with the ability to combine multiple frames for even larger deployments.
It employs the same interchangeable I/O, software architecture, licensing model, and operational workflows as other Ultrix platforms, enabling users to standardise on a single platform regardless of facility size.
Compared with traditional broadcast infrastructures, Ultrix FR30 can reduce rack space by up to 97 per cent, power consumption by up to 89 per cent and cabling by up to 95 per cent.
The platform supports SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, Dante, SRT, JPEG XS, and other industry-standard media formats, said the company.
