EMG Germany goes live with Sony’s XVS-6000 mixer

Six of the company's seven broadcast studios can be operated using the two new mixers, which can be assigned to individual studios depending on each production’s requirements

As part of a renewal of its live production systems, EMG Germany has commissioned two Sony XVS-6000 multi-format video mixers to replace its previous MVS-8000Gs.

EMG Germany primarily produces entertainment and infotainment formats, as well as outside broadcasting for major sporting events such as European or World Championships.

Six of the company’s seven broadcast studios can be operated using the two new mixers, which can be assigned to individual studios depending on each production’s requirements.

The XVS-600 is a multi-format video mixer that supports diverse hardware or software panels, as well as proven third-party control interfaces for studio automation and live control, said Sony. The system is also future-proof and can be upgraded to UHD or IP at any time if required.

René Steinbusch, CEO of EMG Germany, said, “A big plus when switching from the MVS to the XVS live video mixer series is familiarity and logical operating philosophy. In our hectic daily production routine, this is enormously important. Accordingly, this system change was easy for us.”

“It is precisely this experience and the trust of our customers that flows into the development work and makes our products constantly better in terms of a consistent operating and ergonomic concept,” added Christian Hesse, key account manager Germany at Sony Europe. “And then there’s our strict focus on future-proofing: live video mixers like the XVS-6000 are also designed to meet tomorrow’s requirements, for example with regard to UHD and remote production – or even IP expansions.”
