Netgear debuts new switches to simplify setup for IP workflows

The new M4350 models include built-in grandmaster clock and boundary clock functionality, meaning they can serve as the primary timing source for a broadcast network

Network Solutions company Netgear is introducing four new models to its M4350 managed switch portfolio.

The switches have been designed specifically for broadcast and pro-AV applications, and feature advanced capabilities for IP-based installations, said the company.

Key features for all models include multicolour LED port identification to make it easier for technicians to identify which cables should be connected to specific ports by finding the corresponding LED colour.

The new M4350 models include built-in grandmaster clock and boundary clock functionality, meaning they can serve as the primary timing source for a broadcast network.

Introduced with the latest M4350 switches, a new mechanism secures power cables to the chassis, preventing accidental disconnections during critical live events.

“These new additions to our M4350 line demonstrate Netgear AV’s ongoing commitment to addressing the specific needs of broadcast and pro AV professionals,” said Laurent Masia, senior director of product line management for managed switches. “Enhanced SMPTE ST 2110 support and innovative features such as multicolour LED port identification make these switches ideal for demanding applications where reliability and ease of deployment are essential.”
