Matrox Video has announced the launch of its new high-density IP video gateway range.
Designed for both local and cloud-based IP video gateway workflows, Matrox Vion enables interoperability between applications across broadcast workflows, said the company. The solution supports real-time encoding, decoding, transcoding and conversion across a range of compressed and baseband formats including H.264/HEVC, JPEG-XS, ST 2110, IPMX, and NDI. Two versions are available, EX and NX, with EX providing additional SDI and HDMI capability.
Key benefits include: support for ST 2110-22, IPMX and JPEG XS; facilitation of NDI media and protocol conversion, including between NDI and SRT, and NDI and IPMX; the ability to preview content locally with HDMI and audio outputs; and delivery of numerous concurrent and bi-directional streams.
Matrox also announced a forthcoming update for ConvertIP DSH, which the company said increases workflow flexibility. An IP-to-IP bridging feature aims to enable conversion between compressed and uncompressed formats, such as ST 2110-20, ST 2110-22, and IPMX.
VP of product management at Matrox, Spiro Plagakis, commented, “Vion and the new ConvertIP update represent strategic advancements in AV and broadcast technology. By supporting open standards, offering comprehensive protocol conversion, and delivering high-performance encoding and bridging options, these devices empower users to seamlessly adapt their IP workflows, whether on-premises or in cloud environments.”
