Zixi and Ateme have announced an extension of their strategic partnership, aiming to help content owners accelerate the transition to IP and cloud-based workflows.
Blending Ateme’s video processing and delivery capabilities with Zixi’s software-defined transport platform, the integration aims to provide users with an end-to-end solution spanning contribution, distribution and delivery across on-premises, cloud or hybrid environments. Jointly engineered, the co-marketed collaboration will focus on meeting the live production needs of broadcasters and content owners facing rising satellite costs and reducing transponder availability.
The solution allows users to augment existing satellite infrastructure with managed IP pathways, aiming to add capacity, improve resiliency and reduce costs. Pairing Ateme’s bandwidth-efficient encoding with Zixi’s error-corrected, multi-path transport provides broadcast-grade reliability over commodity networks, said the companies, providing a low-risk route to hybrid satellite-plus-IP models.
