LiveU’s Solo given European rollout

A plug-and-play live streaming product for the online media market will be showcased by LiveU at IBC2016.

Already available in the US, and first launched at IBC last year, LiveU Solo connects automatically to online video platforms and content delivery networks including Facebook, YouTube Live and Wowza Streaming Cloud.

The encoder is built around LiveU’s existing bonding technology, its integral LRT (LiveU Reliable Transport) adaptive bit rate and forward error correction protocol, and can be managed and controlled remotely via a web interface or smartphone.

Also set to be on show is LiveU’s LU710 encoder. When combined with the LiveU Xtender transmission device and LiveU’s enhanced server, the 4K/p60 HEVC rack-mountable 1U device can add HD and 4K cellular streaming options to an SNG truck.

LiveU is also presenting a new software release for all of its portable transmission and management products. Version 6.0 includes a new interface design for LiveU Central, the cloud-based management and video distribution system, and an improved LiveU Matrix management workflow.

In addition the update includes an improved version of MultiPoint, an internal and cross-organisational video distribution service that enables the sharing of high-quality live video between multiple broadcast facilities over the public internet.
