As live news and sports broadcasters manage an increasing number of video streams across a range of IP-video protocols and standards, a partnership between two tech companies is hoping to deliver better quality assurance.
Monitoring and visualisation software specialist TAG Video Systems has formed a strategic partnership with live IP-video and remote production company LiveU. The partnership enables TAG Video Systems’ real-time media performance software to not only monitor LiveU’s live video transmission feeds, but also notify for events and visualise them in real-time. The integration aims to both maintain video quality as well as catch issues before they impact viewers.
Features include real-time visibility into live video streams from remote locations and pro-active problem solving to identify potential issues like signal degration. The partnership also provides optimised transmission for more challenging networks; TAG Video Systems says it enables LiveU to leverage TAG’s analysis to optimise its transmission, underpinned by its LiveU Reliable Transport (LRT) protocol to maximise video quality over wire-free networks.
“Live news and sports broadcasters operate under immense pressure to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines,” said Ziv Mor, chief growth officer at TAG Video Systems. “By integrating our solutions with LiveU’s field-proven technology, we are providing them with the tools they need to ensure flawless live productions and maintain viewer trust with a simplified, agile workflow.”
