Fujinon adds to Cabrio range

Fujinon has added a telephoto lens to its Cabrio PL-mount range. The ZK3.5×85 (85-300mm) is a hybrid-style lens that can be used with a detachable servo drive for ENG operation, or without as a Cine lens.

It was shown as a prototype at IBC last year, and joins the existing ZK4.7x19SAM 19-90mm zoom.

“The new Fujinon Premier PL Mount Series compact zoom lenses combine optical quality, operational versatility and ease of use to meet all cine and ENG assignment needs,” said Stefan Czich, broadcast sales manager at Pyser-SGI, Fujinon’s distributor for the UK and Ireland. It is “packed with a host of features and operator benefits.”

Features include: 200º focus rotation; flange focal distance adjustment; built-in macro adjustment for extreme close-up focusing; a nine blade iris to help create natural images; coverage of 31.5mm diagonal sensor size to ensure optimal full frame resolution; and self-aligning servo drive. The lens weighs 3.0kg with servo drive (2.5kg without).

The digital servo has newly developed 16-bit rotary encoders for extra precision, and the lens supports Lens Data System (LDS) and /i metadata formats. It can be controlled using cinema industry standard wireless controllers as well as existing Fujinon wired and wireless units. Barrel markings are luminous for improved visibility in low light.
