Netflix set a new record for revenue from its mobile app in November, according to new data from analysts Sensor Tower.
According to their Store Intelligence data report, the streamer grossed an estimated $86.6 million worldwide via the Apple App Store and Google Play.
That was 77 per cent higher than the $49 million Sensor estimates Netflix made in November 2017. Netflix’s previous best month for revenue via its app, according to Sensor, was July this year when it made $84.7 million.
Sensor says the app has now made $1.58 billion globally since September 2015.
The United States still contributes the majority of Netflix’s in-app subscription revenue at 57 per cent of the total last month, or $49.4 million.
Revenue in the U.S. grew 76 per cent year-over-year in November, which, while significant, was surpassed in terms of countries contributing more than $1 million in gross revenue by Germany at 90 per cent, Brazil at 94 per cent, South Korea at 107 per cent, and Japan at 175 per cent.
