Mediapro has announced plans to launch a channel dedicated to the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after winning the rights to the tournament.
The broadcaster plans to air every game from the tournament, which has been brought forward from its traditional slot in the soccer calendar to take place from 21st November to 18th December 2022.
Mediapro says it will launch a dedicated 24/7 television channel to cover the tournament, which will include additional programming, analysis, news, interviews, training sessions, press conferences and archive matches.
The company’s deal with FIFA also covers this year’s Women’s World Cup, which takes place in France from 7th June to 7th July.
