Google-powered rendering and storage in the cloud

PixStor’s ability to extend into Google cloud and store content using Google Nearline storage is being demonstrated at BVE

PixStor’s ability to extend into Google cloud and store content using Google Nearline storage is to be demonstrated at BVE.

Pixit Media claims that users can benefit from how PixStor is able to transfer and store data, while maintaining file system intelligence on the Google Cloud platform.

Utilising the resources of Google Cloud storage in conjunction with the PixCache Cloud Gateway appliance, guests to the stand are able to witness PixStor’s ability to submit render jobs to cloud based render farms and return these completed jobs, according to the company.

Also on the Pixit stand, highlighting PixStor’s ability to utilise industry standard commodity hardware, is technology partner NetApp, which is displaying its latest all-flash storage disk arrays. Mellanox, the supplier of end-to-end interconnect services for servers and storage, is also displaying its high-speed network and switching.

Barry Evans, technical director of Pixit Media, said, “At Pixit Media we appreciate that with ever decreasing budgets companies need intelligent and data-aware file systems to ensure data is stored on the most cost effective storage platforms. That’s why we’re pleased to be demonstrating our relevant solutions this year at BVE, enabling customers to invest wisely in non-proprietary technology that does not lock them in to one vendor.”
