Sky extends Vubiquity deal

Vubiquity has secured an exclusive multi-year extension to their wholesale content supply chain contract with Sky. The deal will see Vubiquity manage and deliver the catch-up

Vubiquity has secured an exclusive multi-year extension to their wholesale content supply chain contract with Sky.

The deal will see Vubiquity manage and deliver the catch-up and on-demand services of Sky’s wholesale customers in the UK, including Virgin Media, TalkTalk and BT.

Adam Poulter (pictured), managing director of Vubiquity International, said, “We are extremely proud of our services to Sky, which produces some of the best content in the world, and this long-term agreement consolidates the success of our relationship.

“The growth of catch-up services and OTT continues to provide content owners with new, fast and exciting routes to monetise both new and library content, and in some instances reinvigorating older media libraries.

“It provides a compelling and attractive proposition to content owners.”

Vubiquity has managed this content supply chain for Sky since 2012, providing Sky with a full suite of digital services. It processes and delivers more than 5,000 hours of content every month for Sky.

Mark Winterbottom, director of Sky channel distribution, said, “It is crucial that we fulfil our obligations to our wholesale partners.

“Vubiquity delivers on time, every time with this service in a professional manner that gives us no hesitation to extend our agreement.”
