Eren joined TRT in 2013 as deputy director general

Ibrahim Eren has been appointed the new director general of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT).

Eren joined the broadcaster in 2013 as deputy director general and has now been elected to the top job.

He has worked on a wide range of projects at the company, including the launch Turkey’s first international news channel TRT World in 2014.

Eren started his professional career working for media firms in arts and culture and, in 2008, went to work as a representative for Turkuvaz Media Group’s ATV in the UK. He became director general of ATV Europe and deputy director of ATV in 2010 where he oversaw the restructuring of the channel and streamlined in-house production.

Eren is also the chairman of the executive board of TIAK A.S (Television Audience Research Committee Joint Stock Company), a director of International Emmy and a member of the board of directors at Turk Telekom.
