Registration is now open for a virtual version of the 4K 4Charity Fun Run taking place during the SMPTE 2020 Annual Technical Conference.
This year’s event is raising funds for Technovation, a global tech education nonprofit that empowers girls to become leaders, creators and problem-solvers in their lives and communities, and UNICEF.
As with this year’s Virtual NAB and IBC events, participants can sign up to run, walk, or jog 4K (2.49 miles) or 8K (4.97 miles) at a time and place that works for them. However, all runs must be completed by 9th December.
“The 4K 4Charity’s move to a virtual format is perfect for these times and we are happy to participate again this year. The beneficiaries deal with improving access to education in technology and programming for young people, which SMPTE cares deeply about,” said Barbara Lange, executive director of SMPTE. “I have participated in nearly every one of the 4K 4Charity runs at IBC, NAB, and SMPTE so I encourage everyone to go out and run for a great cause within our industry.”
