Rise has announced the launch of its Rise Bursary. Available to UK-based female students aged 17 and above who meet specific eligibility criteria, the bursary aims to provide recipients with access to coaching and structured career development in addition to financial support.
The group, which advocates for gender diversity in the media technology environment, said the bursary is “rooted in empowerment through education” and aims to open doors to opportunity, creating a lasting impact.
An interactive display on the Rise website will enable sponsors to purchase a “Tile of Opportunity” which will form part of a mosaic providing symbolic representation of collective support and a way for organisations to showcase their support, said Rise.
Nicki Fisher, chair of Rise, said, “We continue to hear concerns across the industry about the declining number of young people entering and graduating in technical and operational media subjects. With this new bursary, we aim to ease the financial burden of higher education while providing ongoing support through the Rise community. This is just the beginning – we are committed to working with multiple education providers and sponsors to expand these opportunities across the UK and beyond.”
Applications are open between 31st March and 16th June. Interested students can apply via the Rise Website, where more details about eligibility are available.
