Meet the… company director

Rebecca Price, director of Creative Vision Finance, tells TVBEurope about the importance of learning to become an effective communicator

Talk us through an average day in your role.

There’s really no such thing as an “average” day in my role, and that’s what keeps me excited and motivated after 20 years in asset finance! Every day brings new challenges and opportunities. A typical day might involve working closely with clients to secure funding for their next equipment purchase, pitching tailored solutions to banks, and collaborating with my team to ensure we’re meeting our clients’ needs and expectations. Beyond that, I’m also involved in the daily operations of running my own business, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. It’s a dynamic, fulfilling role that keeps me looking forward to the week ahead.

Rebecca Price, director, Creative Vision Finance
How did you get started in the media industry?

I spent six years working in asset finance before taking a break to travel in 2008. When I returned, the financial crisis had shaken things up, and many banks were cutting back on staff. I was fortunate enough to be offered a role to manage a new finance programme for Sony Broadcast. At the time, I didn’t fully realise how lucky I was to step into such a rewarding and exciting industry, but looking back, I’m grateful for the opportunity. The media industry has been such a wonderful fit for me, and I’ve learned and grown so much along the way.

What training did you have before entering the industry?

I studied law at university, and although my degree wasn’t directly related to my career path, it taught me valuable skills in research, critical thinking, and communication—skills that have served me well in every role I’ve had. More than that, I’ve always had a strong work ethic, a natural charisma, and a genuine drive to succeed. I think those personal qualities are just as important as formal training, and they’ve been key to building the relationships and trust that are essential in this industry.

Why do you enjoy working in the industry?

What I love most about working in this industry is the people. The creatives and professionals I work with bring so much passion and energy to their work. It’s incredibly fulfilling to help guide businesses—many of which may not be financially savvy—by providing advice on how to make smarter financial decisions and elevate their operations. Being able to play a part in their growth and success is incredibly rewarding, and it keeps me deeply engaged in what I do.

What piece of advice would you offer someone looking to explore a role similar to yours?

I’d say that communication is key. Investing time in becoming an effective communicator, someone who listens as much as they speak, will open doors. Alongside that, having a strong work ethic and a personality that blends charisma with competence is invaluable. In this industry, or any client-facing role, you’re building relationships, so leaving a positive and lasting impression is everything. If you have those qualities, you’re already on the right track.
