‘I have a passion not only for tech, but building long-term success’: Peter Bellamy joins Deltatre

TVBEurope talks to Peter Bellamy about his appointment as CRO at Deltatre, and why technology is key to the company's growth

Sports and entertainment technology provider Deltatre has announced the appointment of Peter Bellamy as the company’s new chief revenue officer.

Bellamy has previously held leadership roles at BSkyB, NeuLion, Saffron Digital, and Endeavor Streaming (Endeavor/IMG), and he has extensive experience across media rights, production, digital consultancy, and the deployment of large-scale consumer-facing digital experiences, said Deltatre.

Speaking to TVBEurope about his appointment, Bellamy said he was impressed by Deltatre’s clarity of strategy and the ambition of further growing the company’s footprint. “I also knew Deltatre well due to directly competing with them and I knew that [it] had a very large surface area of products and services, not just pure-play OTT, but a full digital ecosystem offering. I found this very compelling as I think it is so important for sports, media, and entertainment businesses to be able to deliver fully integrated digital experiences.

“Deltatre has recently gone through a very significant investment in its tech (tens of millions) to further productise the offerings – this now means we are delivering cost-effective streaming and digital services for Deltatre’s traditional base of large tier 1 deployments (still a big focus for the business), but also smaller sports, media, and entertainment properties,” added Bellamy.

Asked what he will bring to the company, Bellamy said he has a “deep understanding” of not just OTT but wider media deployments at a large scale. “I have a passion for not just tech, but actually building long term success with clients, and I put a strong emphasis on understanding their KPIs and building a support structure to help them reach essential growth goals,” he explained.

“I love working across the business – between commercial, technology, operations, product etc. I have a deep appreciation for the internal machinery of businesses in this space and thrive on helping to optimise how we operate and offer value to clients.”

Deltatre is looking to become an extension of its customers’ digital team, said Bellamy, which will enable the company to further develop engagements in full-service partnerships. “We already have a platform that scales with clients and are proud that we offer a level of sophistication that means they won’t need to migrate to a new stack as they grow.”

Like many companies, Deltatre is busy looking at how artificial intelligence can help deliver value by streamlining workflows, enhancing personalisation, providing insights and improving discoverability. “We’re also developing new ways to make our quality digital and streaming content experiences even more interactive with richer data overlays and live engagement features,” revealed Bellamy.

“Every tech initiative at Deltatre is focused on perfecting the technology that helps content providers build healthy, profitable businesses. This includes driving down costs by leveraging an architecture that provides common features and capabilities at an attractive price, while still enabling customisation and offering a seriously high-quality solution.”
