Netflix has seen its stock market value rise by seven per cent since it won its first Academy Award on Sunday.
The company’s stocks rose by five per cent on Monday and two per cent yesterday, closing at an all-time high. Netflix won the Best Documentary Oscar for Icarus.
Netflix is now worth around $140 billion, around the same amount as Time Warner and Fox combined, and only $16 billion less than Disney.
Outside of the media industry, Netflix is now worth more than McDonald’s and General Electric in market value.
