Advocacy group Rise has announced the winners of its first scheme which aims to recognise women in the global broadcast and media industry.
The judges saw over 100 nominations of women in a variety of roles and across the globe, in categories including: Business, Engineering, Marketer/PR, Rising Star, Sales, Technical Operations, and Woman of the Year (sponsored by Grass Valley).
Morwen Williams, head of UK operations, BBC News was presented with the Woman of The Year Award. According to the judges Williams “has relentless positivity and enthusiasm and is a fantastic role model across the sector.. Although she is incredibly busy, she continues to take the time to be involved in the Rise mentoring programme and has been a superb mentor for the last two years.”

Marketer/PR: Lucy Speed, marketing and PR manager, Discovery
Rising Star: Shannon Albrink, junior editor, Therapy Studios
Sales: Charlotte Latham, manager of sales and operations, CueScript
Technical Operations: Lorraine Panman, portfolio project manager, Massive
