Arvato and Vidispine unite as one brand

"Move will bring the strengths of the two brands together in a more cohesive way, and give customers a clearer understanding of the product offering"

Arvato Systems and Vidispine are combining into one brand, which will be relaunched as Vidispine.

According to the companies, the move will bring the strengths of the two brands together in a more cohesive way, and give customers a clearer understanding of the product offerings.

Arvato Systems, the IT specialist within the Bertelsmann Group, acquired media supply chain company Vidispine in 2017 in order to strengthen the existing link between their complementary solutions and expand into new markets with a combined offering to address the explosion in video content and the growth of Cloud-based solutions for media.

The new Vidispine brand will include a complete ‘content ecosystem’ of the company’s own product portfolio and professional services together with a strong community of partner vendors, consultants and service providers and developers creating solutions for organisations.

The restructured portfolio includes solutions for the broadcast and  media & entertainment industry, including enterprise Media Asset Management, content planning and rights management, and ad tech, as well as the cross-industry content platform, VidiNet.

According to Holger Noske, VP Broadcast Solutions, Arvato Systems, the decision to rebrand as Vidispine was due to the company being “a well-known, well respected brand that is specifically targeted at media organisations and organisations using media to support their business. In bringing the portfolios together, it was important to us to maintain the value we have in both brands, hence Vidispine, an Arvato Systems brand.”

“We did look at all the options.,” added Erik Ahlin, co-founder, Vidispine. “As far as possible, we started with a blank piece of paper and looked at all the possible options. Of course, rebranding the Vidispine portfolio under Arvato Systems would have been the obvious path to take, but the obvious path isn’t always the right one and the team here looked at all the options in detail, and this was the result. If I remember we started with 7 or 8 possible scenarios in the beginning, before cutting that down to 3 before settling on Vidispine as the right way to go.”
