A new Journey for Dimension Studio

Journey intends to leverage Dimension's UK base, reach and infrastructure to support its clients globally

Journey has announced the acquisition of Dimension Studio.

The deal aims to strengthen Journey’s ability to scale globally as the company builds on its ambitions to extend design across multiple mediums.

With more than a decade of experience in real-time production across the film, immersive and live experience spaces, Dimension has worked with studios including Disney, Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV+, and Sony Pictures. Its recent projects include Those About to Die for Amazon and Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air. The studio’s AI-driven animation harnesses Unreal Engine to accelerate production through rapid iteration, virtualised environments and seamless collaboration, said the company.

Dimension’s team’s technical and creative leadership in end-to-end virtual production makes it a natural fit for Journey, which will leverage Dimension’s UK base, reach and infrastructure to support its clients globally, said the company.

Combining the teams aims to deepen Journey’s innovative culture and technical expertise, positioning the company to deliver immersive experiences, digital humans and spatial storytelling at scale.

Andrew Zimmerman, CEO of Journey, said, “At Journey, we believe the future of design belongs to those who can bridge imagination, storytelling, and technology. Dimension embodies that philosophy completely. Together, we’re not just creating new forms of content; we’re inventing new ways for people to experience the world.”

“Dimension is a trusted partner and co-producer for filmmakers everywhere, helping them to embrace the creative potential of Real-time, virtual and AI production technologies,” added Dimension co-founder and co-CEO Steve Jelley. “It provides opportunities for everyone to expand those partnerships to deliver amazing experiences in any medium.”
