Shure has announced the launch of its first digital wireless in ear monitoring solution.

Axient Digital PSM aims to provide operators with flexibility and scalability across a wide range of environments, delivering less than 2.9ms latency, said the company.
As Shure’s first Wireless Multichannel Audio System (WMAS) enabled product line, the solution features a multi-channel wideband mode increasing spectral efficiency and improving RF performance or channel count scalability.
Using two transmit diversity antennas to send identical signals on the same frequency, Shure’s Spatial Diversity allows RF engineers to easily support separate zones, optimising coverage for environments such as a stadium, broadcast studios and indoor venues. When integrated with True Digital Diversity bodypack receivers, Axient Digital PSM combines four discrete signal paths per channel, offering robust protection against RF noise and multipath interference.

Supporting both analogue and digital input formats including AES3, Dante, and AES67, Axient Digital PSM enables monitor engineers to connect to modern consoles with standard AES256 encryption ensuring secure transmission, added Shure.
Users are able to select either ADTQ Quad Transmitter or ADTD Dual Transmitter options, each offering four flexible transmission modes:
- Multi-channel wideband (according to regional WMAS regulations) supporting up to 40 channels per 8 MHZ in Europe and 28 channels per 6 MHz in the US
- Narrowband offering access to more RF output power per channel and maintaining spectral efficiency at 17 channels per 6 MHz.
- Analog FM allowing high-quality audio with ultra-low latency.
- Axient Digital Standard (Point-to-Point Mode) enabling users to send long-distance audio to any Axient Digital microphone receiver. (available through a post -launch firmware update).
Shure’s Wireless Workbench and AD600 Spectrum Control Manager allow monitoring of the RF spectrum, maintenance of backup frequencies and technical issues to be addressed, while ShowLink provides real-time control and continuous monitoring of all bodypack receivers, including channel quality, battery status, volume position and more.
Nick Wood, senior director, global marketing and product management at Shure, commented: “Axient Digital PSM offers a revolutionary digital radio with WMAS capabilities, remote management for engineers, and a pristine audio experience for performers. To unlock new possibilities and applications, Shure is dedicated to advocating for spectrum efficiency and WMAS regulations worldwide. Axient Digital PSM takes advantage of this opportunity, giving users more resources to optimise performance and make the best possible use of spectrum, now and in the future.”
Axient Digital PSM will be available early next year.
