Roku has added a new channel to its line-up that features only AI-generated content.
The channel is from AI startup Fairground Entertainment and is described as the first FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) channel dedicated exclusively to AI-generated content.
According to Fairground, the launch of the channel marks “a landmark moment in the distribution of AI Cinema, a groundbreaking new form of storytelling that merges cinematic production values with the creative possibilities of artificial intelligence”.
Speaking to Variety last month, Fairground CEO and founder Colin Petrie-Norris said the channel aims to provide an avenue for creators to showcase the “gorgeous things” they’re creating through a “curated experience.”
However, the channel has not gone down well with viewers with many taking to social media to describe it as “24/7 slop”.
